I am delighted and honoured to be the Head of School of Paul Penna Downtown Jewish Day School. Paul Penna DJDS offers the opportunity for an inclusive, innovative and relevant Jewish education in the heart of Toronto.  Our school serves the educational needs of a diverse group of students coming from many different parts of the city. What they all have in common is a desire to be part of a warm and welcoming school community that incorporates Jewish tradition and rigorous learning into multiple areas of school life.  Above all else, Paul Penna DJDS provides a dynamic and nurturing environment for children to grow, learn and experience Jewish life as an integral part of their formative school years.

Paul Penna DJDS has been on a tremendous growth trajectory over the last 6 years. The Pandemic years provided us an opportunity to build our unique community  and further strengthen our place in the downtown Toronto community. he expansion of our school, beginning in September 2021, to offer Grades 7 and 8, has allowed our school to grow and shift creating an exceptional pathway to highschool in a Jewish environment. . Our unique middle school program has been created continuity for existing families been a draw for new families, which has allowed us to broaden our school community to students choosing Jewish education at different points in their academic journey. 

Being at Paul Penna Downtown Jewish Day school feels like coming home. I am deeply connected to the downtown Toronto Jewish community that I grew up in. I have the good fortune of engaging with a dedicated group of faculty and fellow administrators who work hard each day to make the school experience the best it can be. Paul Penna DJDS is building upon the strength of our history and extended community and moving forward into our second quarter century with innovation and energy.
