The French curriculum is a blend of reading, writing and oral communication with a strong emphasis on conversational speaking. Through games, art and traditional second language learning strategies, children build on their vocabulary, grammatical and cultural French learning.
Pictured For the Grade 7 “Qui Suis-Je?” (Who Am I?) unit, students created identity cards about their favourite celebrities and then practiced asking questions to their friends. This allowed them to practice their French language descriptors and question asking, and connect to their own interests.
