Dr. Joshua Tepper is a family physician President and CEO of Health Quality Ontario. He is responsible for educational strategy and programming for learners, physicians and staff, patients with their families, and the community. He spent five and a half years as the first Assistant Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Health Human Resources Strategy Division. As the Assistant Deputy Minister he lead the HealthForceOntario health human resources strategy. In this role, he also reported to the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, as well as to the Premier’s health results table on the “Family Health Care for All” agenda. With a degree in Public Policy from Duke University and a Masters of Public Health from Harvard, he has been involved in health policy and research at both the provincial and national level. He was a senior medical officer for Health Canada, an adjunct scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) and a research consultant for the Canadian Institute of Health Information (CIHI). He has received several provincial and national leadership awards. Joshua completed his executive MBA in June 2011 at the Richard Ivey School of Business and was nominated the class valedictorian. Most important of all, Joshua has an awesome son named Ishai, who is currently in grade 6 at Paul Penna DJDS.
