Jay Rosenthal is Director of Projects at PUBLIC Inc. and PUBLIC Impact Lab. He came to Public in 2013 after nearly 15 years in the San Francisco Bay Area and he plays a key role in the Public Impact Lab, creating and implementing innovative public health interventions. In California, Jay launched and ran JMR Strategic, his own a strategic communications firm focused on public affairs, public relations, politics and media. JMR Strategic focused on corporate government affairs for highly regulated companies and trade groups, including the Fortune 500 companies Pacific Gas and Electric and Allied Waste Services, candidate elections throughout the Bay Area of California and education reform. Prior to starting his own company, Jay was Vice President for Public Policy at the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce serving as the chief architect of the Chamber’s public policy and political efforts and as the organization’s spokesperson. Jay has extensive experience in government on both the federal and local level having served for two years with San Jose Mayor Ron Gonzales and three years with U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer bridging both her Capitol Hill and California offices. Jay was named one of “40 Under 40 People to Watch” in Silicon Valley by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal in 2005.
