Dara Roth Edney, MSW, RSW
Dara Roth Edney has been a Registered Social Worker since 2000, with a primary counselling focus on reproduction. Her clinical work has a foundation of more than a decade of qualitative research experience, having managed studies for The Hospital for Sick Children, the Canadian Mental Health Association, Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care and The Institute for Work & Health, amongst others. Research conducted at the Hospital for Sick Children explored issues of youth and academics, including early school leaving and in-risk youth. In her private practice, Dara supports people experiencing infertility/loss, and is equally committed to assisting those accessing reproductive options for reasons other than infertility (i.e. sexual orientation/gender identity, relationship status). She also specializes in facilitating decision-making and conducting assessments for those involved in egg, sperm or embryo donation and/or gestational surrogacy. She facilitates peer support groups and is called upon to lead mediations when conflicts arise in surrogacy arrangements. Dara’s youngest daughter and nephew are in grade 6 at Paul Penna DJDS, and her older daughter and two nieces are graduates of this wonderful school.
