Parents' Association
The primary objectives of the Parents' Association are to enrich the lives of our children, to create and reinforce a sense of community, and to represent the parent body on the Paul Penna Downtown Jewish Day School Board of Directors.

REGULAR PA INITIATIVES INCLUDE:
Shabbat Celebrations – all classes receive challah and grape juice every Friday afternoons
Jewish Holiday Celebrations – food and drink are served for holidays
In-Class Birthday Celebrations – at the end of each month, classes receive cupcakes to celebrate birthdays from that month
Lunch Clubs – a variety of lunchtime activities for the children
Staff Appreciation – we celebrate teachers and staff twice a year, once at Chanukah-time by giving them a chance to eat together (we provide the dessert), and once at the end of the year with a complete day devoted to them (coffee and bagels in the morning and a fully catered sit-down lunch)
Throughout the year, the PA also supports a variety of other initiatives, including adult education events, evening coffee houses, a beginning-of-year and end-of-year picnic, class oneg Shabbats/Havdalahs, and a skating party.

We invite all parents to become involved in the PA and encourage you to attend our bi-monthly meetings.
